43 Actions New Feature Tuesday: Date picker.
On this week’s “New Feature Tuesday” we are releasing the most anticipated feature yet. We have gotten more requests for this than for any other feature, and it is a pleasure for us to finally being able to launch it.
In the spirit of keeping 43 Actions as simple, straightforward and intuitive as possible to use, the new Date picker is hidden by default—letting your first choice always fall on the pragmatic “Today” or “Next Week” type choices. Should you have the need to pick a specific date, simply click “Show date picker…” and pick away!
If this is still not enough for you, if you want even more fine-grained control like setting the exact hour and minute, then by all means send us your feedback. We strongly believe, however, that there is always a trade-off between simplicity and complexity, and as both developers and hard-core users ourselves—we have used the new Date picker internally for some time now, mind you—we have found this new system a good balance between speedy entry, ease of use and power. Especially when you consider the competition in the group of mobile productivity applications where 43 Actions belongs.
Special message to our donors, and to everyone else: from today on, new features like this will be available exclusively, for a significant period of time, to users who have contributed towards the cost of running 43 Actions—as a token of our appreciation. Eventually, all features will be released for everyone to enjoy, keeping with our overall philosophy of being open and fair to all users, whatever their financial situation.
This is a way for us both to be able to more gradually handle the extra load which some of these new services invoke, as well as a measure of our gratitude for the power users who help us pay our monthly bills. Let us know how this works out for you by sending us your feedback.
